Rock climbing Hrádok

The Hrádok climbing area is a paradise for climbers who want to try multi-pitch climbing on the highest andesite wall in Slovakia. The Hrádok area is located in the Bystričianska valley, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature and at the same time enjoy adrenaline climbing on rocks up to 100 metres high. The Hrádok climbing area offers something for everyone. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced climber, you will find routes of different difficulties and styles. The area is suitable for learning to climb multi-pitch routes in the mountains. The routes are 3 to 4 rope pitches long.

Climb Length:

  • Very good fitness and climbing coordination required
  • Difficulty of ascent is up to VII UIAA
  • Technically demanding climbing terrain with very exposed places and climbing

Recommended preparatory hikes:

  • Sport rock climbing

Equipment needed:

  • harness
  • belay device for double rope
  • personal anchor
  • climbing clothing
  • food and drink 1,5 l/person
  • spare sweatshirt (polartec or merino)

  • guiding with a UIAGM mountain guide (the mountain guide has third party insurance and a valid UIAGM membership)
  • photos from climbs (with mobile phone)
