Mont Blanc 4808m
A 6-day program in the Mont Blanc massif, ending with a climb to its majestic summit. In the first few days we will be practicing glacial terrain, technical preparation for the ascent and acclimatization climbs. We will then embark on the actual two-day climb to the 4,810m summit of Mont Blanc.

Description
Ascent to Mont Blanc itinerary:
- Day of easy acclimatization glacier hike. We will take the cog railway from Chamonix to the final station of Montevers. From there we will hike down to the Mer de Glace glacier. On the glacier we will practice basic crampons walking techniques, use of the ice axe, walking stability in different terrains, traverse on crampons, descending steep terrain and try ice climbing. Return back to the final cog train station. Return by cog railway to Chamonix.
- Day glacier acclimatization tour. We take the cable car from Chamonix to Aiguilles du Midi 3842m. From the final cable car descend to the Vallée Blanche glacier. Variants of the ascent are Mont Blanc du Tacul/Traverse Lachenal/Cosmiques ridge.
- Day glacier tour through the Vallée Blanche and return to the Aiguilles du Midi. Return by cable car down to Chamonix.
- The day of the start of the ascent of Mont Blanc. We will drive to the nearby village of Les Houches and from there we will take the cable car to Bellevue. We then continue by cog train to the final station of Nid d’Aigle 2380m. From there we walk an easy path to the Refuge de la Tête Rousse hut 3180m. From the hut we climb roped by a rock pillar to the Refuge du Gouter hut 3815m. The tour takes 6 hours and we will gain 1500 vertical metres. We spend the night at the hut.
- The summit day of the climb to Mont Blanc. Wake up at 02:00 and after breakfast we will head to the summit of Mont Blanc. The route follows the glacier to the bivouac hut Vallot Refuge. From the hut we continue along a sharp ridge to the summit of Mont Blanc 4810m. From the summit we descent to the Nid d’Aigle for the return train and cable car back to Chamonix.
- Reserve Day. Alternatively climb the easy rock ferrata Via Corda Alpina if desired.

Recommended preparatory climbs:
Equipment needed:
- alpine technical boots (vibram sole)
- crampons, ice axe, helmet, harness (rental included)
- technical backpack
- headlamp
- sunglasses suitable for glacier
- ski goggles
- technical waterproof and windproof fleece for the mountains
- thermal underwear
- insulating layer – down jacket
- sun cream with a factor of min. 50
- gloves 2 pairs
- hat
- food and drink 1,5 l/person
- spare technical sweatshirt (polartec or merino)
- list of mandatory equipment
The price includes:
- guiding with a UIAGM mountain guide (the mountain guide has third party insurance and a valid UIAGM membership)
- photos from the tour(with mobile phone)
- rental of mountaineering equipment (helmet, harness, crampons and ice axe)
- A smile on the guide’s face and a pleasant comfort during the ascent 🙂
