Climbing the Matterhorn 4,478 m, the most famous rock pyramid in the world, will be the experience of a lifetime. The climb to the top starts from the Hörnlihütte hut and follows the Hörnligrad ridge. The breathtaking summit ridge will take you over both the Swiss and Italian summits.

Description
Itinerary:
The program is 2 days long.
- 1st. Day by cable car from Zermatt to Schwarzsee and easy walk to Hörnlihütte approx. 2 hrs, overnight.
- 2nd Day: climb from Hörnlihütte to Matterhorn 4,478 m, descent to Schwarzsee and cable car to Zermatt.
- The actual ascent of the Matterhorn takes about 10-12 hours from the hut to the summit and back. The ascent involves climbing in rocky terrain in exposed sections on the ridge and wall.
Difficulty:
- very good condition is required
- very good climbing skills in rocky terrain is required
- Experience in alpine glacial terrain

- alpine technical boots (vibram sole)
- crampons, ice axe, helmet, harness (rental included)
