Huncovský peak right pillar

Description

The ascent to Huncovský peak starts with the cable car from Tatranská Lomnica to Skalnaté Pleso and from there it continues on foot under the wall for about 30 minutes. Under the wall begins climbing terrain in difficulty III-IV UIAA. The Right Pillar route has a total of 8 pitches. It is a beautiful easy climb up the pillar to the ridge of Huncovský peak. The whole route is secured with fixed bolts. From the ridge it is possible to continue the ascent by a path to the summit of Huncovský peak. Or by descend directly from the ridge along the trail back to Skalnaté Pleso and take the cable car to Tatranská Lomnica.

The length of the ascent to Huncovský peak:

• 4-5 hours

Difficulty:

• The climb is suitable for climbing beginners
• Good fitness and climbing coordination required
• Ascent difficulty is III-IV UIAA
• The whole ascent is done with a rope attachment

Equipment needed:

• backpack
• climbing shoes
• helmet
• harness
• climbing clothing
• food and drink 1,5 l/person
• spare sweatshirt (polartec or merino)
• list of compulsory equipment
