Freeride – avalanche course
Freeride is free skiing in untouched snow in backcountry. A freerider seeks out fresh powder in order to draw long curves and enjoy a fast ride to the fullest. To save energy and maximize his riding time, he uses the lifts and chairlifts to get up the mountain and only uses skins for short transfers from the lift to the start of the run. However, he always enters avalanche terrain at the start of the descent and therefore, in addition to skiing, avalanche knowledge is very important.
The Tatras are an ideal place for freeriding. We offer a freeride avalanche course with experienced UIAGM mountain guide. We will explain and practice avalanche issues in freeride and ride with you in powder, according to the current conditions. We will stay in a guesthouse in the valley and always transfer to the resort for snow. In the evening after the ride there will be a film screening, a lecture on avalanche issues and photos from the expeditions. There will also be space for your questions.
